In early November, Microsoft announced that its Surface Laptop Go was available for pre-order. Now Microsoft’s lightest laptop is now available in Malaysia through its authorized commercial resellers and authorized retailers. It will also be streamed online through the official Microsoft store at Lazada and Shopee.
Microsoft also offers a variant of the Surface for Business that comes with enterprise-grade security and support. These laptops will also come with Windows 10 Pro instead of Windows 10 Home in the consumer variant.

Surface Laptop Go features a sleek, streamlined design that measures 15.69mm thin and weighs 1.1kg. The laptop features an aluminum lid and a polycarbonate composite resin base. Open the lid to find a 12.4 ″ PixelSense touchscreen (1536 x 1024 pixel resolution) with a 3: 2 aspect ratio. In case you missed it, please note that this display has an output lower than Full HD.
The full-size keyboard, with 1.3mm key travel for precise and comfortable typing, is complemented by a highly accurate trackpad.
For added convenience, all Surface Laptop Go models (except the basic consumer model) come with a one-touch fingerprint power button. This feature allows users to log in through Windows Hello for a fast and secure login.
Under the hood, the Surface Laptop Go is powered by the 10th Gen Intel i5-1035G1 processor combined with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. It should be noted that the base model comes with just 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage. Microsoft claims that the Surface Laptop Go has 13 hours of battery life which should help users get through a full day at work.
The laptop also comes with a 720p HD webcam that will come in handy for all the video calls that users make from home. It is complemented by Studio Mics for receiving audio, as well as Omnisonic speakers that come with Dolby Audio surround sound.
Users get a variety of different ports to connect their accessories, such as a USB-C port, a USB-A port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Surface jack. However, it does not come with an HDMI port, so you will need an adapter if you intend to connect it to a larger monitor.
