PETALING JAYA: Member of the Supreme Council of Umno Datuk Mohd Razlan Rafii (Photo), who was campaigning in Sabah, has been hospitalized while awaiting Covid-19 test results, according to media reports.

Mohd Razlan is currently in mandatory quarantine and receiving treatment at a Kota Kinabalu hospital following the Covid-19 test.

In a short 22-second video clip, he said he hoped all of his friends were listening.

“For swab tests or any type of test, it is important that you isolate yourself first. Please pray for the best,” he said in a clip posted on SuaraTV on Sunday night (September 20).

Meanwhile, the head of Sabah Umno, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, when asked on Sunday night about the reports of an infected Umno leader, said it was a suspicious but not yet confirmed case.

“But he’s already been in quarantine for 14 days,” Bung told reporters in Tawau last night.

Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah had previously reminded those who will participate in Sabah state elections to comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

“Whether they are healthcare workers or not, and (also) others in Sabah, everyone must comply with the SOPs.

“By adhering to standard operating procedures, we can avoid getting infected.

“If there is a gathering, the risk (of becoming infected) will increase if there is no (physical) distancing, no masks are worn and hands are not washed,” said Dr. Noor Hisham.
