KUALA LUMPUR: Mediha Mahmood, former Director of Legal Services for AirAsia Digital, has been appointed Executive Director of the Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Content Forum, the self-regulatory body for the communications industry.
Your appointment dates from February 1.
CMCF President Khairul Anwar Salleh said Mediha was entrusted with the responsibility of managing the strategic direction of the independent self-regulatory body.
“Mediha will oversee and oversee all CMCF operations, functions and activities aimed at spreading the mission and voice of the organization.
“This includes efforts related to industry self-regulation, digital piracy, content code updates, and ongoing strategic partnerships with all stakeholders, as well as enhancing CMCF’s role as a focal point and single center for content management,” He said.
Mediha, who specializes in law and regulation, has 17 years of experience in law firms and publicly traded companies, including Astro, where she served for 11 years.
He was also a councilor at the Malaysian Consumers Forum and CMCF before leading its legal committee.
Mediha said that CMCF will update its content code to address new issues in the industry, as well as any outstanding issues. CMCF will continue discussions with key opinion leaders, influencers, digital marketers, and e-commerce operators.
“This effort aims to share the value of self-regulation, and the lesser known fact by many that compliance with the content code can act as a defense against any prosecution, action or proceeding, in or out of court,” he added.
