Media Prima claims to have taken the necessary measures and precautions after the journalist tested positive for Covid-19

PETALING JAYA: Media Prima Berhad has confirmed that a staff from The News Straits Times Press (M) Bhd tested positive for Covid-19 after returning from Sabah.

The health authorities had notified Media Prima, stating that the person was being treated in a public hospital.

“The affected staff returned from their editorial duties in Sabah on September 30 and had undergone the mandatory Covid-19 test administered by the Ministry of Health.

“The affected personnel had been quarantined at home since they returned, before being reported as a positive case,” he said in a statement.

Media Prima stated that it was working closely with the health authorities and had taken the necessary measures and precautions to minimize the potential exposure of other employees.

“The affected staff had self-quarantined and had not visited any Media Prima facility since returning from Sabah.

“Media Prima will provide the necessary support to the affected personnel. We pray for a speedy recovery,” the statement read.

Emphasizing that the safety of all employees was its top priority, Media Prima said that those who returned from Sabah had taken the mandatory Covid-19 test and were currently undergoing 14-day self-quarantine at home.
