KUALA LUMPUR: Compounds were issued to 290 people, while another 18 were detained for various violations under the movement control order (MCO) on Thursday (November 26), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The prime minister (Security) said that among the main crimes committed on Thursday were not wearing masks, not practicing physical distancing and participating in activities in entertainment venues.
“The compliance operations working group conducted 54,528 checks Thursday, including 3,713 supermarkets, 4,943 restaurants and 1,308 factories.
“The working group will increase its controls and severe measures will be taken against those who do not adhere to the standard operating procedure (SOP),” he told reporters during his daily briefing on Friday (November 27).
In Ops Benteng, 40 illegal immigrants were detained Thursday while 275 roadblocks were carried out across the country, he added.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said that 75,993 people returned to Malaysia since July 24.
“A total of 10,813 people are still in mandatory quarantine in 76 hotels and 18 other locations.
“A total of 405 people were sent to hospitals for treatment, while 64,775 people were discharged and allowed to return to their homes,” he said.
On the public sanitation operation, Ismail Sabri said 11,957 operations have been carried out in 137 areas since March 30.
