KUALA LUMPUR: 456 people were prosecuted for violating the recovery MCO.
Chief Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the compounds were delivered to 421 people, while 34 were detained and one was released on police bail on Saturday (December 26).
“The crimes included participating in activities at entertainment venues, failing to maintain physical detachment, and not wearing face masks.
“The compliance operations working group conducted 43,077 checks across the country, including 3,295 supermarkets, 4,528 restaurants and 3,118 banks,” it said in a statement on Sunday (December 27).
At Ops Benteng, he said 57 undocumented immigrants were detained while three ground vehicles were seized.
“There were also 114 barricades,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ismail said 93,070 people have returned to Malaysia since July 24.
“A total of 7,125 are currently in mandatory quarantine, while 536 were sent to hospitals for treatment.
“A total of 85,409 have been discharged and allowed to go home,” he added.
