PETALING JAYA: Many still don’t wear masks in crowded public spaces despite efforts to flatten the Covid-19 curve, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
“Of the 460 compounds released on Friday, 182 of them were slapped for not wearing masks.
“I hope people comply as wearing face masks in crowded public spaces is the most basic standard operating procedure (SOP),” the Chief Minister said yesterday at his Covid-19 briefing.
Ismail Sabri also said there were a large number of people who did not adhere to physical distancing, not to mention locals who did not provide facilities to record customer details.
“A total of 106 people were aggravated for not complying with the physical distancing while another 110 were issued for not providing registration details.”
In light of this, Ismail Sabri said that law enforcement officers would intensify controls to ensure compliance with the SOP and that they would not compromise with violators.
