KUALA LUMPURFailure to practice proper physical distancing, along with not wearing face masks, continues to constitute the highest number of violations under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

This was demonstrated yesterday when of the 131 arrests made for breach of the RMCO, 73 were for activities that hindered physical distancing while another 31 were for not wearing face masks, Chief Minister (Security Group) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pix) said.

Other violations included failing to prepare check-in and check-out tools (20), defying quarantine orders (2), operating beyond the allowed hours (4), and operating without a valid business license (1).

“As for Op Benteng, yesterday a total of 67 illegal immigrants and four ship captains were arrested for trying to enter the country illegally via rat trails.

“The operations also included the seizure of a boat and four vehicles,” he said today in a statement.
