KUALA LUMPUR: Starting tomorrow, employers will be required to test foreign workers for Covid-19 in several factories identified by the Ministry of Human Resources, said Chief Minister (Security Group) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pix).
For starters, the tests will focus only on high-risk areas in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sabah and Labuan.
He said the companies involved will have to prepare the necessary quarantine stations and low-risk Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centers.
“The companies will have to bear the costs of managing the stations and centers, as well as the food and maintenance of the workers. Employers will have to prepare transportation to transport workers from stations and hubs and also bear the cost of employees’ Covid-19 projections.
“If a worker tests positive using the Rapid Antigen Test Kit (RTK-Ag) and has no symptoms, the worker can be placed in the workers’ dormitory set up by employers as long as they are isolated from workers who tested negative using the RTK-Ag, ”he said today at the Recovery Motion Control Order (RMCO) daily briefing.
He said that if the bedroom conditions were inadequate, the worker would have to be placed in the low-risk Covid-19 quarantine and treatment center prepared by the employer.
Ismail Sabri added that workers who test positive on the RTK-Ag test and have severe symptoms will be admitted to the hospital, while workers confirmed positive through the RT-PCR test would have the option of being immediately placed in the hospital. quarantine and treatment center prepared by employer or admitted to hospital.
“Workers who test positive with the RTK-Ag test and have mild symptoms will be placed in the quarantine and treatment center prepared by their employers.
“All patients who are discharged must wear monitoring wristbands that will be of a different color than the home surveillance order wristbands,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said that yesterday the police detained 741 people for violating the standard operating procedures of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), and of that total, 720 people received enclosures and the rest were sent to pretrial detention. . – Called
