Telles should follow the Uruguayan at Old Trafford before Monday’s transfer deadline after sources told ESPN United they are in advanced negotiations on a deal for the Brazilian left-back.
Porto accepted an offer of around € 15 million plus add-ons after initially demanding around € 20 million in advance. The 27-year-old is scheduled to undergo a medical examination before joining the Brazil national team.
United turned down the opportunity to sign Cavani in January after being discouraged by his salary demands of 360,000 pounds a week. After leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, the forward was offered to every major club in Europe before United increased their interest last week.
Sources have told ESPN that his salary will be significantly lower than his demands in January and that the fees of the agents involved in the deal will be less than 10 million euros.
Cavani has already spoken with former PSG teammate Thiago Silva, who joined Chelsea in the summer, about the Premier League and life in England.
United were eager to close a deal for a center forward knowing that Odion Ighalo’s loan from Shanghai Shenhua will end in January.
Meanwhile, United winger Diogo Dalot has joined AC Milan on loan for the remainder of the season.
