Manchester United are preparing to offer Bruno Fernandes a new £ 200,000-a-week contract, doubling the midfielder’s current salary.
According to the Mirror, United will reward the Portuguese star for his efforts on the field just under a year after he joined the club in a £ 47 million transfer from Sporting Lisbon in January.
Fernandes made an instant impact at Old Trafford and has recorded 22 goals and 14 assists in 37 games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 26-year-old has only eleven months on a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Red Devils and this new deal will allow him to extend his contract for another 12 months.
United see Fernandes as a key element in moving their team forward and want to keep him happy despite inconsistency on the pitch in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
He currently earns £ 100,000 per week, a sum that is much lower than some of the other players in the club and does not reflect his importance to the team.
Goalkeeper David De Gea earns three times more than Fernandes on a £ 350,000 weekly contract and Paul Pogba earns £ 300,000 weekly.

After the lockout interrupted last season’s Premier League campaign, Fernandes returned to end the season in style and was awarded the fan’s player of the year award despite playing only half a season.
He also won two Premier League Player of the Month awards in February and June 2020, further demonstrating his positive impact on the club.
He has recorded 22 goals and 14 assists in 37 games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He has his eyes on the team’s silverware though, as United have gone seven years without winning a Premier League title.
Fernandes has been setting an example this season with seven goals and three assists in nine Premier League games and is an influential figure in the locker room.
He has also continued his good form on the European stage, with three goals and one assist in the Champions League group stage.
