Liverpool beat the Wolves 4-0 at Anfield, while Paul Scholes has explained how they have copied one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s favorite tactics. Mohamed Salah, Georginio Wijnaldum, Joel Matip and an own goal by Nelson Semedo left the Reds without easy winners.

Scholes has praised Jurgen Klopp for using a tactic Ferguson had at United while the former midfielder was there.

Liverpool beat Wolves 4-0 to reaffirm themselves as the team to beat this season with many talking Chelsea and Tottenham.

Both teams from London have looked brilliant, but it will take something special to bring down the Reds.

Their 4-0 win over Nuno Espirito Santo’s men was a statement to the rest of the Premier League as Klopp used his superior attacking strength.

Despite a series of injuries from players like Virgil van Dijk, Alisson and Joe Gomez, the champions reigned supreme.

Salah, Wijnaldum, Matip and an own goal by Nelson Semedo left the Reds without easy winners.

But Scholes was impressed by the way Klopp brought together four forwards to strike fear into the opposition, something Fergie did at United.

He told Amazon Sport: “I go back to my playing days at Man Utd. We always had four center forwards.

“If two of them didn’t do it for an hour, there were always two on the bench to come in and make a difference. That’s what they built here.

“Okay, they’re playing in a different way, I know, with all three. But, having Jota on the wings has to make you sharp.

“Whether Jota and Firmino is playing on the bench or whoever is on the bench, cheers you on.

“You’re looking a bit the whole time to stay alert. Is he going to get me out? You have to act to make sure he doesn’t.”

Despite Alisson’s absence, 22-year-old goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher stood up to keep another clean sheet after his midweek antics against Ajax in the Champions League.

And with the fans back at Anfield, the young Irishman was over the moon to do it in front of his fans.

He said: “Getting a clean sheet, for me and the four behind, is the most important thing for us. So we did our job.

“It was obviously amazing [to play in front of fans]. It’s been so long without them that it felt a bit strange to see them, but it was an incredible feeling to have them back in the stadium.

“The support they give, honestly, is of another kind. You saw today how we perform when they’re there, so having them back today was a huge bonus. “
