Manchester United fans have expressed how unimpressed they are with the club’s summer transfer business after the window was closed last week.
Thousands of United fans responded to the MEN poll asking for their thoughts at the window.
After Donny van de Beek signed in the summer, three players walked through the door on the day of the deadline, with Alex Telles, Edinson Cavani and Facundo Pellistri joining the Reds.
A deal was also agreed on Monday for Atalanta’s Amad Diallo, but he won’t arrive at the club until January.
However, after a prolonged and ultimately unsuccessful chase from Jadon Sancho and a lack of strengthening in central defender, United fans have left their discontent with the window cleared.
When asked to rate their satisfaction with the United window on a scale of one to 10, more than a quarter of those surveyed selected one.
26 percent of those who responded responded with one, and another 14 percent rated their happiness as two out of 10. In fact, only 17 percent of fans selected six or more because of how happy they were with the United window. . After one, the most popular option for how happy fans were was three, with 17 percent choosing that option.
Van de Beek was the overwhelming choice for United’s best signing in this transfer window, with 52 percent of fans backing him to outshine the other newcomers.
Twenty-four percent of fans believe Telles will be United’s best signing, and only 16 percent named Cavani the best.
Perhaps an indicator of how disappointed fans were not to host Sancho, only three percent of fans selected winger Pellistri as the best window signing. Five percent of fans believe that Diallo will be the best signing.
Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of fans say they are unhappy with how the window came out.
When asked if they were happy with the business United did, 59 percent (12,800 fans) of those surveyed said no. Twenty-nine percent of supporters said it is too early to say, and only 12 percent said they were happy.
