Manchester United could reportedly lose Alex Telles as they may not have as much time to sign him as previously believed.
The FC Porto star has been linked to a move to Old Trafford since Tottenham Hotspur confirmed the signing of Sergio Reguilon.
Fabrizio Romano has insisted that United have online backup in the event a deal with Telles falls through, but has declined to reveal who.
Fans are particularly frustrated that this deal has so far not been concluded simply because of how straightforward it appears on paper.
Telles has a year left on his current contract, Porto are willing to sell and the player is open to move, and yet it now looks like everything could end badly.

While international duty can complicate things a bit, it doesn’t necessarily rule out a deal entirely, as the Telegraph seems to suggest.
Manchester United fans need to look no further than Donny van de Beek, who was signed by Ajax during the international break in September.
However, time is running out for those at Old Trafford as there are only a few days left until the summer transfer window, much to the disappointment of fans.
The transfer window this summer has been one of the strangest in living memory. So remember the less stressful days and test your knowledge of United’s past arrivals and departures in our quiz below.
