It looks like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time at Man United may be coming to an end.
Manchester United were miserable as they were beaten 2-1 by Istanbul Başakşehir in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
And now the club is taking action.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United have contacted Pochettino’s representatives amid the team’s lousy form with Solskjaer.
Insiders said United’s hierarchy privately backed Solskjaer ahead of his terrible Champions League defeat on Wednesday.
They are reluctant to part ways with the Norwegian so early in the season.
But United could drop to 17th place in the Premier League with a loss to Everton at the weekend.
United now accepts that they have to act quickly if United’s form continues to decline.
The Red Devils would not have to pay any compensation to Pochettino’s former club Tottenham because the deadline passed in May.
Pochettino spoke about his desire to return to management earlier this week.
“I’m always ready to get back in the game,” Pochettino said. “It is not stress when you are working, it is not stress to go into the training round to prepare for the game and compete.
“I hope to be back soon so we can start working again. I really want to get back in the game. I love this game, but it is difficult, we are in and working to get things done. That is reality.”

What the Argentine did with Tottenham was nothing short of remarkable.
He transformed the Spurs from a mid-table club to Champions League-ranked perennials.
Pochettino failed to win a major trophy at the club, but led them to the final of the main European cup competition. He accomplished all of this despite not having incredible amounts of money to spend.
Imagine what you can do when you have financial backing at a club like United.
In my opinion, they have to do something for him soon. It is not often that a coach like Pochettino is available, so they must act quickly before another club replaces him.
