Manchester City will face rivals Liverpool in the race to sign Belgian Wonderkid Aster Vranckx.
Both Premier League clubs have seen 17-year-old KV Mechelen midfielder in the Belgian league this season.
Vranckx caught the eye when he scored the first and established the second in a 2-0 victory over Anderlecht.
Man City and Liverpool vie for midfielder Aster Vranckx
Bayern Munich and Feyenoord have also been keeping an eye on the player who had earned a regular spot on the KV Mechelen team just before the Belgian league was postponed in March.
He already has five limits for the Belgian U19 team, and with Premier League clubs looking to cut their budgets as they face serious losses in the uncertain next 12 months, Vranckx represents a realistic target.
With the Belgian league facing a vote on May 15 on the question of whether to end its season due to the Coronavirus crisis, Mechelen will almost certainly have to sell this summer.
