Man Utd legend Roy Keane hails Leeds rivals’ ‘bravery’ before blatant Gung-ho defense

ROY KEANE praised Leeds’ bravery before criticizing their ‘stupidity’ after their first-half performance against Manchester United.

Whites’ Premier League reunion with their old foes got off to a disastrous start, as Scott McTominay scored twice in the three minutes.

Bruno Fernandes then pocketed a third in the 20th minute with the Leeds defense all over the place.

And it threatened to turn into a beating when Victor Lindelof ran unmarked at the back post to put four with 37 on the clock.

Leeds was given a glimmer of hope at halftime when Liam Cooper headed home from a corner.

With much to discuss during the break, United legend Keane was eager to sink his teeth into Leeds’ performance.

He initially praised their persistence in the attack saying: “To be fair to Leeds, they have a lot of courage …”

Before adding: “A lot of stupidity too. But they have been gaining opportunities.”

Sky Sports host David Jones quickly cut him off, reminding Keane that he should have used ‘naivety’.

Keane then responds: “Yeah sorry, naive. They deserved that goal, they’ve certainly moved on.

“Despite all their weaknesses, they have a lot of strengths, a lot of spirit and they will carry on.”
