SEREMBAN (Bernama): A man died after the truck he was traveling in sank from a five-meter flyover following an accident at KM280.7 of the North-South Highway (PLUS) (southbound) near Nilai .
Nilai District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman said that at 4.15pm on Friday (November 27), the truck driver suffered serious injuries.
The incident is believed to have been caused by the driver of a pickup truck driving in the fast lane toward Melaka.
The truck driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the rear of the truck, causing it to skid to the left and hit the left handrail before plummeting onto the road below.
“The 32-year-old victim was thrown from the truck and landed on the road below, which is Jalan Nilai-Salak,” Superintendent Mohd Fazley said in a statement here.
He said the truck driver suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital, Seremban.
The case is being investigated under section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and further investigations are ongoing. – Bernama
