KAJANG: A man who beat a firefighter on duty in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn tested positive for drugs, police say.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan confirmed this when contacted on Thursday (October 15).
“On October 15, the police received a report that a firefighter was beaten by the suspect while extinguishing a car fire along Jalan Suakasih, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn.
“The incident at 10.40am saw the suspect trying to enter the area and get to his car.
“He said he was the owner of the car that was on fire.
“The firefighter on duty ordered the man to calm down and cooperate, but he got aggressive and threw a punch.
“The man was detained by both firefighters and members of the public,” he said.
Investigations showed that the suspect works as an event organizer.
The suspect will be sent to pretrial detention on Friday (October 160 in Kajang court.
Video of the incident shows the man running and screaming after throwing the punch. He was detained shortly after by firefighters on duty and people on the scene.
