KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s participation in Covax, the global initiative backed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to ensure fair and equitable access to Covid-19 vaccines worldwide, will be raised today at Dewan Rakyat.

According to the order document, Lim Guan Eng (PH-Bagan) will ask the minister of science, technology and innovation during the ministers’ question time about the cost of participation and Malaysia’s role in the initiative.

During the oral question and answer session, Natrah Ismail (PH-Sekijang) will ask the Minister of Communications and Multimedia the outcome of the 5G demonstration project that had been carried out and the willingness of the ministry to expand the 5G network throughout the country.

Debate continues on the Supply Bill 2021 covering next year’s budget, which enters its eighth day.

The house will sit for four hours starting at 10 a.m., with only 80 deputies (41 from the government and 39 from the opposition and independents) authorized at any given time to help curb the spread of Covid-19.

The current meeting will be held for 27 days until December 15.
