Available from November 13, 2020, Malaysians can now get their hands on the new iPhone 12, starting at RM3,399 for the mini and ending at RM6,699 for the 6.7 ″ iPhone 12 Pro Max.
That is much more than most Malaysians can afford.
With the Budget 2021 discussions still heavily focused on extending the blanket moratorium and possibly a one-time withdrawal from EPF accounts, one would have the impression that Malaysians are facing a cruel moment to deal with the impact of Covid. -19 and the Motion Control Order (MCO) in force.
Incorrect!
Spread on social media, the images of Malaysians crowded into telecommunications media trying to get hold of the new iPhone is the opposite of what is intended.
Shared on the Facebook page 不断 更新! 新闻 资讯, images of people lined up in huge lines show how lucky some Malaysians are to be able to spend a fortune on the new iPhone.
Along with the legend, “Poor economy? Everybody goes crazy with the iPhone 12 that came out today. ” It shows how many “difficulties” Malaysians have affected us.
Netizens weren’t impressed.
Commenting on the publication, a netizen writes: “People say they don’t have money. However, we can buy iPhones. “
Another writes, “My friend told me the economy is bad!”
Well, not for most of us.
Hopefully this is not a trend among Malaysians and that in these difficult times, we control our spending to focus more on the essentials.
