LUIS SUAREZ scored TWO goals after coming off the bench to make his debut for Atlético de Madrid.
The Uruguayan was expelled from Barcelona to the dismay of his close friend Lionel Messi.
But the defeat of the Catalan giants was Atleti’s win of just £ 5.5 million and Suárez wasted no time making his mark in the Spanish capital, and he also received an assist.
He immediately took Marcos Llorente away to mark Atleti’s fourth after entering as a substitute in the second half.
And it took him just 15 minutes to open his own account in his new colors when he rocked the net with an impressive header in the 85th minute.
Things got even better for the former Liverpool player when he scored his second in eight minutes in injury time to complete a 6-1 win at Wanda Metropolitano.
It was the perfect start to the new league campaign for Diego Simeone’s men.
Incredibly Suárez became the first player to score and assist in his LaLiga debut with Atleti este CENTURY and the first to get two on his debut.
Suarez wasn’t the only big name to start the game on the bench with defensive midfielder Thomas Partey also absent from the starting lineup.
Simeone’s decision to bench Arsental’s transfer target, Partey, made the Gooners think it could be a sign he’s on his way to North London.

Former Chelsea tough player Diego Costa had put Atleti on their way with a ninth-minute header and the team could even afford to see Saúl Niguez’s penalty blocked in the first half.
Ángel Correa and Joao Félix scored the other goals after the break with Jorge Molina Vidal scoring late consolation for Granada on either side of Suárez’s debut goals.
It was the perfect end to an emotional week for Suárez, who burst into tears when he said goodbye to the Camp Nou.
