He said that this type of syringe was necessary and appropriate for the vaccine because it could prevent waste and maximize the number of doses to be administered, especially in the first phase of the National Covid-19 Immunization Program that will begin on February 26.

“The vaccine must be administered with care because we need to avoid waste and this syringe also meets the specifications requested by the Pfizer company,” he told reporters after receiving a contribution of 1,000,000 personal protective equipment from Eu Smart Solution Holdings Sdn Bhd. , here today. .

Low dead volume syringes generally refer to no-waste syringes, ensuring that the injection recipient receives the full dose of vaccine they need.

Last Saturday, Dr Adham was reported to have said the Ministry of Health needed 12 million low dead volume syringes to inject 20 percent of the country’s population or six million recipients in the first phase of the vaccination program. .

Dr Adham said the low dead volume syringes would be placed at all the vaccination sites that have been identified across the country.

“For the vaccine, we need to have a complete team and I am sure that with all the preparations available, we will be able to administer the vaccine with care, which in turn can protect people from Covid-19,” he said.

Dr Adham said 6,542,418 reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction screening and rapid antigen test kit tests were performed from January 24, 2020 through Saturday (February 6).

“The tests carried out have helped the Ministry of Health to quickly detect positive cases and have allowed rapid contact tracing.

“I ask those who have had close contact with positive cases to provide complete information to the District Health Office to allow action to be taken on the transmission of Covid-19,” he added. -Called
