Louis van Gaal criticizes Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, stating that the connection with the club has saved him from dismissal and that the Red Devils were ‘SERVANTS’ of their rivals Man City in the derby

Former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal tore a strip off Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and suggested the Norwegian only remains in his post simply because he is a former player.
Van Gaal this week offered a frank assessment of his former club and delivered a not-so-flattering verdict on current coach Solskjaer.
The Dutchman feels that Solskjaer has the added protection of being a club legend and will simply not be fired by United mid-season … although he could finally have a rude awakening at the end of the current campaign.

Solskjaer, according to Van Gaal, still has a job because he is a former player and icon of the club
“Solskjaer is a former player, so he will not be fired as quickly as anybody else,” said Van Gaal of the Norwegian, according to the Mirror.
“United will not fire a coach during the season, especially Solskjaer. I see all the stories about Solskjaer and his future in the media.
“But they waited to fire me until the end of the season and that could happen to him,” he added.

Van Gaal received his marching orders from United in the summer of 2016, despite winning the FA Cup for the club against Crystal Palace a few hours earlier.
After replacing the doomed David Moyes, Van Gaal believed he was finally getting things on track at Old Trafford before the ax fell.
Now, based on his own experience, Van Gaal believes that Solskjaer could go the same way.
He added: ‘They waited with my dismissal until the end of the season and that could happen to him,’ before then moving on to hit United’s focus in the recent derby’s recent goalless draw with local rivals Manchester City and boldly claim they performed as ‘service’.
“All Man United did was defend with ten men,” Van Gaal said. Everyone knows my relationship with Pep Guardiola, who is angry with me because I challenged him in my last book.
Van Gaal won the FA Cup with United, but was fired immediately afterwards.
But I enjoyed watching City more than United. I have much more sympathy for City than I do for United.
“Honestly, United were just defending and hoping they could make a quick hit on the counter.
“United just defend and put a couple of players in front who can run 100 meters in 9 seconds. Is that a world record?
“In the derby, United played as if they were City servants.”
