Liverpool will be the best at Christmas after beating Crystal Palace 7-0, but Jurgen Klopp wants more

Liverpool will be on top of the tree this Christmas thanks to Saturday’s 7-0 record win over Crystal Palace, but after the demolition of Selhurst Park, Jurgen Klopp warned: “I’m not satisfied.”

Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino scored twice each, with Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino also on the scoresheet.

It was their biggest victory in the Premier League and the first time in their history that they had won by seven in an away game in the top flight.

The victory also means that Klopp has won more Premier League matches than any other Liverpool manager, while never before has a team in the division seen seven different players assist in a goal in a single game.

“Everything is good in this game,” Klopp said. “It was really difficult to play against us today. And obviously everyone was wearing their finishing boots. ‘

But he warned: ‘I don’t feel satisfaction or anything. I’m happy at the moment, absolutely, because it was just an excellent game, but there is no point in being on the moon. ‘

Liverpool can enjoy Christmas knowing it has the rare luxury of a week off.
