Liverpool’s trio Naby Keita, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson voted for at least two of their Reds teammates at the FIFA Best awards.
Players around the world were asked to vote for their featured artists during the past 12 months.
Liverpool have won the Premier League title in that time, their first in three decades.
And three of his players, who have the opportunity to see their teammates demonstrate their quality every day in training, voted for their teammates.
Van Dijk selected three of his fellow Liverpool stars.
He chose Sadio Mane as his main vote, Mohamed Salah as his second and Thiago as number three.
Much of the latter’s good work was achieved at Bayern Munich, where he won the treble last season.
Robertson and Keita voted for eventual winner Robert Lewandowski as their first pick.
The Pole won the award after an excellent year with the German giants in which he scored 55 goals.
Robertson also selected Thiago and Van Dijk, while Keita chose Mane and Salah.
Lewandowski’s announcement as the winner resulted in an interesting and well-documented look from Cristiano Ronaldo, another of the top contenders for the award.
“If you win an award like that and share that title with Messi and Ronaldo, it’s incredible and it means a lot to me,” said the prolific forward.
“A long time ago, I remember yearning for something like this and now I can win such an award.
“This really means, regardless of where you come from, the only thing that matters is what you put on.”
However, there was some individual recognition for Liverpool, as Jurgen Klopp picked up the gong for the best manager.
It’s the second year in a row that the German has done it.
“I am [shocked]”Klopp said.
“I have a lot of people to thank and especially my coaches. If I’d known we had won it, my coaches would be here with me. What we did last year is about these guys.
