Mohamed Salah will wear a special pair of Adidas boots in the Champions League this week after scoring 100 goals for Liverpool in the Merseyside derby at the weekend.

The Reds kick off their 2020/21 Champions League campaign with an away game against Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena on Wednesday night.

Salah became the 17th player in Liverpool history to score 100 goals for the club when he shot home from the edge of the box during the second half of Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.

The Egyptian international became the first man to reach a century with Liverpool since Steven Gerrard in 2008, although the forward did so in the third fewest games.

And now, to celebrate the special achievement, Adidas has created a bespoke version of the X Ghosted football boots for you to wear tomorrow night.

The boots are a limited edition version of X GHOSTED called Mo’s Golden Touch and there will be a limited number of signed pairs raffled off on the Adidas app, with more details to follow on how Reds fans can secure their chance to win a pair. .

The custom boot design is gold and white and has ‘Salah100’ on the side and speaking before the game, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is excited about the prospect of taking on the Dutch champions.

He said: “If you think, and if you thought about the past, in European football, Liverpool was 100% involved and Ajax was also involved, that’s how it is.

“One of the highlights of my time in Dortmund was without a doubt the two games against Ajax, just for a personal reason. You think: ‘Okay, you want to play in this stadium against a young and very exciting team.’

Adidas has created a bespoke version of the X Ghosted football boots to celebrate Mohamed Salah scoring 100 goals for Liverpool.

“Ajax slightly changed their philosophy [and] brought in some experienced players. [Daley] Blind is there [Dusan] Tadic is there [Quincy] Promes [Davy] Klaassen returned from Bremen.

“So some players who played early in their careers at Ajax, then mixed with a lot of really young and exciting talents. That’s how it is.

“Two years ago, or a year and a half, they played an exceptional campaign in the Champions League, absolutely exceptional.

“The way they played, wow. All good but that year we did not play them, it would only have been possible in the final and that did not happen because of Tottenham. So now we meet and I’m excited. “
