According to The timesPaul Joyce, however, Liverpool have registered an initial interest in a deal for Jota. Daily mail Reporter Dominic King, meanwhile, backs up those claims, stating that he is an alternative to Sarr.

He has scored 44 goals for the Nuno Espirito Santo team in all competitions. Last season, he scored 16 goals and gave six assists in 48 games.

NONE WITH CLOSED LIPS IN THE ABSENCE OF JOTA

Nuno Espirito Santo was silent on why Diogo Jota was left out of the team for the Wolves’ Carabao Cup loss to Stoke on Thursday.

Jota was a surprise omission having been an unused substitute in Monday’s Premier League win at Sheffield United. but Nuno did not offer the reason.

He said: “It was not available, these are decisions that we have to make. We have to prepare the template.

“It was a big change, we have to take care of the players, improve our squad and our team and he was not available for the game. These are our decisions to make.

“It was not on the team list. There was no confusion. When a player is not on the summoned list, he sometimes watches the game, if he is away, he stays at home.

“It’s because we have a bubble, we have to make a list, all those details. Nothing strange.”

The 18-year-old He only signed a new long-term contract last summer, after his 2018 move from Ajax.
