Liverpool have been endorsed to win the Premier League title thanks to Diogo Jota following his record-breaking exploits in the win over Leicester on Sunday night. The Reds won 3-0 at Anfield with Jota putting it 2-0 shortly before halftime.
The Portugal forward headed in with a precise cross from left-back Andy Robertson just before half-time.
The 23-year-old’s goal was his eighth in 12 games for Liverpool since trading it for £ 45m from the Wolves in the summer.
He is the first Liverpool player to score in his first four home games in the top flight after scoring against the Foxes.
And BBC Sport expert Garth Crooks is so impressed by Jota’s initial impact on the Premier League champions that he thinks he can help the Reds secure back-to-back crowns.
The Merseyside club is expected to face competition from Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea in their bid to win the 20th championship after ending their 30-year wait for a title last season.

“The impact that Jota is having on Liverpool since his arrival in Merseyside has been quite extraordinary,” Crooks wrote in his Team of the Week column, naming Jota.
“Normally, it takes a player up to three months to settle into a new team, especially if that arrival is after the season has started.
“Kevin Keegan and Kenny Dalglish had similar impacts when they came to Anfield in the 1970s, but there aren’t many like that.
“Portuguese striker Jota has not only started running, he is setting records. Four goals in four consecutive games at Anfield give you an idea of his influence.
“Leicester, which has been singled out as one of the teams that could compete with Liverpool for the title, looked normal at best and even out of reach at times.
“The main reason was due to their inability to handle Jota, who seemed electric. Jota’s arrival at Anfield could be the reason they retain the title.”
Speaking of his start at Liverpool, Jota told the BBC Match of the Day: “Playing for this team, world champions, means a lot, I just wish we can keep winning games and I can be important too, of course.

Jota has scored six goals in his last six appearances with the Reds after having scored a hat-trick against Atalanta in the Champions League earlier this month.
His league goals put Liverpool second behind José Mourinho’s Spurs, only behind the North London club on goal difference.
The two teams will meet in mid-December, but next for Liverpool is Italian rival Atalanta, who they thrashed 5-0 away from home.
They welcome the Serie A team to Anfield knowing that victory would secure their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League, having won all three Group D matches so far this season.
