Liverpool signed Alisson from Roma for £ 67m in 2018.
The Brazilian goalkeeper became the most expensive goalkeeper in history when he joined the Reds shortly after the club was defeated in the Champions League final due to careless mistakes by Loris Karius.
Ali picked up the Premier League Golden Glove in his first season at Anfield, as well as being named the best goalkeeper in the world by FIFA.
The Brazilian was unlucky not to retain the Gold Glove in his second season due to injury, seeing him miss the first months of the season.
Alisson injured
The Mirror reported this weekend that Alisson and Thiago are injured and are likely to miss tonight’s clash with Arsenal.
The Brazilian also missed the first two months of last season, forcing Adrián into action early on.
Transfermarkt says Ali missed 14 games through injury last season, a pretty hefty total given how important he is to the team.
In his second spell we saw Adrián in goal when the Reds dropped out of the Champions League and the FA Cup.
Liverpool should consider signing the goalkeeper
Liverpool has been repeatedly linked with a £ 17 million move by Ugurcan Cakir.
The Turkish goalkeeper would arrive as a substitute for Alisson Becker, providing solid backing for the Brazilian.
While we don’t think Cakir himself is the answer, the Reds could do with upgrading their substitute goalkeeper should Alisson continue to get injured.
Adrian was at fault in both games as the Reds were kicked out of Europe and the cup last season.
If Ali is going to keep losing games, we need to be more confident about his backs. Tonight could be a watershed moment in Adrian’s career at Liverpool if he takes over for Ali.
