Liverpool is interested in signing Jack Butland from Stoke City before the summer transfer window closes in England this month, according to The Mirror.
Butland is reported to have slumped down the pecking order at Stoke and hasn’t played since he appeared for the Potters in their 5-0 loss to Leeds United in the Championship in July.
The 27-year-old is ‘desperate’ to leave the championship club this summer, with Liverpool in talks with the Potters, according to the report.
Starting goalkeeper Alisson will be out for six weeks, according to the report, while Adrian has made mistakes on occasion, as he did against Aston Villa.
Should Jack Butland consider the Liverpool trade?
Of course leaving Stoke for Liverpool is a big step forward, but once Alisson is back in top form Butland, if he moves to Anfield, will become a substitute.
Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and the Brazilian international will always play when fit and available, especially in the Premier League and the Champions League.
If Butland wants to play football regularly in the first team and return to the England national team, then moving to Liverpool may not be the best decision.
