Lenovo has announced the latest laptop in its Yoga series – the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon. According to Lenovo, its latest laptop is a combination of portability and durability at just 996 grams, while meeting nine military-grade MIL-STD-810G certifications.

Lenovo has announced that the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon will be available soon from RM4,399. Availability in Malaysia has been confirmed, although an official release date for local markets has yet to be revealed. One color is available: White moon.

Despite the constant clamor for the (generally) more affordable AMD Ryzen 4000 series chips, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is powered by 11th Gen Intel Core processors (up to Intel Core i7-1165G7. This is coupled to up to 16 Dual-channel LDDR4X RAM and 1TB of M.2 PCIe SSD storage, while getting Intel Iris X integrated for graphics.
There is no touchscreen option available here, although the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon features a 13 ″ ultra-wide-angle display that offers a QHD resolution of 2560×1500 pixels. 100% sRGB color gamut is supported, while Dolby Vision and TUV Rheinland Eye Comfort certifications make this a premium display. Plus, you should get a nearly all-screen experience here, with 91 percent screen-to-body at 16:10.
Battery life is one of the main strengths here, as Lenovo promises up to 15 hours of 1080p video playback and 13 hours of office productivity. Lenovo’s Rapid Charge Boost fast charging technology is supported, which means that 15 minutes of charging should provide enough power for two hours of use.
The company has also been generous with the ports on the latest Yoga laptop. You’re looking at two USB-C ports that support Thunderbolt 4, PD 3.0, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB 4. There is also an additional USB-C port, although this only supports USB 3.2 Gen 2. Finally, the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon comes with a connector. for 3.5mm headphones equipped; laptop makers have been slow to follow the no mobile connector trend, which is good news as far as I’m concerned.
