Mohamad said that the wisdom displayed by the king is a testament to the very important constitutional role that the monarch plays in the administration of the country.

“For the umpteenth time, the Malaysian king and rulers have given priority to the people and their welfare,” he said.

He expressed his confidence that the Perikatan Nasional government would do everything necessary to implement the decision.

Sarawak’s Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg urged politicians and the public to heed the “wise words” of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
