KOTA KINABALU (October 6): The Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) will be enforced in Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Putatan from 12:01 am tomorrow (October 7) until October 20, in accordance with the Procedures Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of CMCO by the Security Council.
Under the SOP, during that period, residents cannot leave the area and employers must allow their employees to leave or work from home.
“Permission to work only for essential services with the approval of the PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police),” according to the SOP shared to the media here today.
Yesterday, Chief Minister (Security Group) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who said that the CMCO aimed to curb the spread of Covid-19 in all three locations and allow active case detection to take place, only announced the effective date. of the CMCO.
According to the SOP, the essential services are banking and finance; electricity and energy; fire and rescue; Port; Postcard; prison; fuel and lubricants; health and medical, solid waste management and public sanitation as well as sewerage.
Also included in the list of essential services are radio communications including broadcasting and television, telecommunications, transportation, water, electronic commerce, defense and security, food supply, wildlife, immigration, customs, hotel and lodging, technology of the information, electricity and electronics; and other services considered essential.
In a related development, Sabah’s chief minister, Datuk Hajiji Noor, has advised people in the state to always adhere to the instructions and standard operating procedures set by the government.
