BUTTERWORTH: A Korean pastor was charged with two counts of outraging the modesty of two men in his apartment on two different occasions in 2013 and 2017 in Magistrates Court here today.

Jee Jon Hoon, 54, was charged with using criminal force by hugging, kissing and fondling the private parts of a 28-year-old man around 12:20 pm sometime in October 2013 at the Apartment Seri Cemerlang here.

He was also accused of doing the same to a 27-year-old man, at the same location sometime in July 2017 around 11pm.

Jee was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force on a person with the intent to violate modesty, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

No pleading was recorded because he could not clearly understand a sign language interpreter. Jee is deaf and dumb.

His attorney, G Shanmugam, said that his client could not understand Malaysian Sign Language, as he could only fully understand Sign Language through International Sign Language.

Magistrate Kalaiarasi Muniandy then established January 18 to allow an international sign interpreter from the Palace of Justice, Putrajaya, to reinterpret Jee’s position and record a statement.

Deputy Prosecutor Azlin Zeti Zainal Abidin prosecuted, while Adlin Farhana Ismail also appeared for Jee.

Bukit Aman had previously revealed that the police would charge a Korean pastor who had petted five men between 2011 and 2016.
