Liverpool should be “smart” and forge a return to Anfield for Barcelona forward Luis Suárez, linked to the exit, according to one expert.
It seems likely that Suarez will leave this transfer window to his current employers, but his next destination remains unclear.
Amid ties to Juventus, he reportedly passed an Italian language test. That would give him an Italian passport and residency in the country, allowing Juve to sign it after filling its quota of foreign imports.
However, Atlético de Madrid reportedly made a late move to sign the Uruguayan. That approach has made Suárez think twice, and the forward wonders if he will remain in Spain.
According to Steve Nicol, Liverpool should take advantage of the situation and offer the 33 year old a comeback from Anfield.
“Absolutely, 100% [Liverpool should sign Suarez], that would be great [move]. It totally and absolutely makes sense: it’s being smart, “said the expert. ESPN FC (Through the Daily express).
“You’re going to get a guy, after talking to him, you’re going to get a guy who I think will be happy to come back and play at Anfield, he’s going to have enough games to keep him happy, he’s quality, he’ll score goals, he’ll give you something in the front three that I don’t think they have.
“Maybe you can argue that they don’t need anything else at this point, but it makes perfect sense.
“Liverpool I have to get an experienced activist, who can play at the level Liverpool are going to play at. Or you get a real star, a promising young gamer who is again more than happy to just be there and get the number of games he could get.
“But to Suarez, 100 percent would.”
Suárez has scored 198 goals in 283 games for Barcelona since leaving Liverpool in 2014.
LIVERPOOL MAKES ITS MOVE FOR THIAGO
Liverpool will soon confirm the arrival of an experienced activist that Nicol has requested.
Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcántara will fly to Merseyside to complete his move to Anfield on Friday.
The Spaniard, who will start at £ 20 million, has been a serial winner for the German champions.
