KL-KK airline passengers urged to undergo a screening

PETALING JAYA: Passengers on a Malindo Air flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu on September 11 are urged to come forward for the Covid-19 screening.

The National Security Council yesterday shared a notice of the flight, urging passengers in seats 30 to 33 to come forward for review.

“Passengers who were seated in rows 30 to 33 are urged to contact the Kota Kinabalu Area Health Office of the Covid-19 Operations Room at 088-726 352,” the notice read.

The Ministry of Health announced that 59 additional cases, out of 61 locally transmitted cases, were from Sabah.

Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that three of the 59 cases in Sabah were from Covid-19 screenings entering the state from Peninsular Malaysia.

In Tawau, a 75-year-old pedestrian, who died in a traffic accident on Saturday, was confirmed to be positive for Covid-19.

He died in an accident at Jalan Chong Thien Vun near his living area.

The old woman is said to have been hit by a car on her way home from buying breakfast.

It is known that he frequented various places in the area, such as the market, to run errands.

The district health office is now working to identify anyone who has been in close contact with the deceased, said Dr. G. Navindran, Tawau Health official.

“All those who were in close contact with her will be tested for Covid-19, including the police personnel who handled the case, her family and others who helped move the body,” he said.

Meanwhile, 68 people were arrested for disobeying various regulations of the recovery movement control order (MCO).

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that of the 68 detained on Tuesday, 66 received compounds and two were sent to remand.

“Among the crimes committed are circumventing the improved OLS (21), not registering personal data (18), not wearing face masks (18), not practicing physical distancing (six) and not complying with quarantine bills (three ). Two illegal immigrants were also arrested, ”he said yesterday in a statement.
