PETALING JAYA: Bukit Aman has forwarded his Investigation Document (IP) on the case involving the Minister of Plantations and Commodity Industries, Khairuddin Aman Razali, who had disobeyed a mandatory quarantine order after returning from a work trip to Turkey, back to the Attorney General’s Office (AGC).
CID deputy director in Bukit Aman Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the IP was forwarded back to the AGC on October 1 for further review.
On September 30, CID chief Huzir Mohamed said that the police were investigating Khairuddin for the crime.
He said there were still some steps the police needed to take after receiving the IP from the AGC.
“In the near future, we will be able to comply with the instructions given by the AGC,” Huzir said.
Khairuddin was the center of attention when he reportedly circumvented his mandatory 14-day quarantine order by attending a Dewan Rakyat session shortly after returning home from Turkey in July.
Khairuddin previously said that he had already paid his fine of 1,000 ringgit and cooperated with law enforcement authorities in investigations.
He also announced that he will donate his salary as a minister from May to August to the National Covid-19 Fund.
