It was a historic victory for Liverpool, one that confirms their place alongside the best teams Anfield has ever witnessed.
Yet of all the many qualities that this remarkable record-breaking team has displayed in the past two years, only one was really evident in a win over West Ham that was due far more to perspiration than inspiration.
It was all about believing. “Mindset”, as his manager Jurgen Klopp puts it.
They have now gone 63 games in the Premier League without losing on their own turf, matching the best in the club’s brilliant history.
And that shows, above all else, that they always find a way.
However, for Klopp it was a bittersweet moment.

Admire the spirit on his side above all else. He loves his fight. However, he is frustrated – and disappointed – that the so-called best league in the world simply does not have the conditions to deliver impressive football today.

“It is not possible to see us being brilliant at the moment. We just have to dig deeper, we did it, and I’m so, so happy, ”he explained.
It is not just Liverpool who feel that, he said. The other managers in the Premier League feel they are forced to produce a substandard product.
“I talked to David Moyes before the game about that, because you can only fight when your body is ready,” Klopp explained.

It has been an extremely interesting start to the season for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Their title defense got off to a shaky start when they beat a seven-goal thriller against Leeds, before going to seven conceded in a beating of Aston Villa.
Virgil van Dijk’s season ended with injury in a 2-2 draw at Everton, leaving the title favorites much less secure in the back, especially with Alisson’s concern about injury.
But there is no slowdown in what will be a busy season, with Klopp making sure his men keep up with him as they fight for more titles.

“It’s an incredibly difficult time, in the outside world, one hundred percent, and also for the boys. Really demanding with the amount of games.
“So we have to find a way to help children and maintain a certain quality. That is for everyone, not just us.”
For Klopp, there is an answer, if only the Premier League considered the health and well-being of the players.
“If they had allowed us five substitutes, it would have helped West Ham as much as us. It doesn’t help a team, it helps the players, because they are the ones at risk, ”he added.
“But we don’t have that. So we have to try everything to win football matches. It’s not about shining, flying or whatever, it’s about working hard.

“Seeing the determination and desire of the boys, the will to play football, to face setbacks is really exceptional.
“Soccer is always about finding the right path, and tonight the boys found it again.”
Klopp has a valid point. The seven teams in Europe look very normal at the moment, and inconsistent too.
That can make the Premier League more exciting, but it also dramatically affects the quality of the game.
However, what sets Liverpool apart is their ability to keep finding answers, even when, like here, they stood up. The amount of late goals he scores is remarkable.

Here was the only true quality piece in the game, as Xherdan Shaqiri produced an impressive ball for Diogo Jota to score in his third game in a row … in a week.
It says everything about the accessory, but also about those now famous “mind monsters”.
“You yourself know we have this fight. It is the basis of everything we do and we did is the character of this group.
