Jurgen Klopp has explained where Takumi Minamino will play at Liverpool after the arrival of Diogo Jota.

Minamino scored twice and had an excellent game for the Reds against Lincoln City on Thursday night, while Jota came in just before time in place of the spirited Harvey Elliott.

Both Jota and Minamino are attack-minded players and there has been a question as to where they could both fit into Klopp’s setup.

Following Liverpool’s 7-2 victory in the Carabao Cup third round, Klopp was asked whether Minamino would now end up playing more central for Liverpool, given that the £ 41 million summer transfer Jota plays mainly on the wing.

Klopp said: “I loved Taki’s game tonight, it was absolutely exceptional.

“He was involved in so many situations, more and more we realize where his qualities are.

“He will play and finish in the center, even if he plays on the left wing or on the right, he will play in the middle spaces and he will finish in the center. That is where he has his true strength.”

“We had more than seven chances to take the kickoff tonight and he was the first guy to chase the kickoff and get the pass.
