Jurgen Klopp moved to clarify an incident that saw him admonish a member of his backroom staff in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday.
After referee Paul Tierney showed Andreas Christensen a red card at the top of halftime at Stamford Bridge, an anonymous member of the traveling contingent audibly celebrated the referee’s decision.
Klopp could be heard yelling out loud: “” Are you crazy? We never do that, okay? “
The Liverpool manager dismissed suggestions that it was someone from the coaching staff and tried to minimize the flash point shortly before half-time in west London.
“He wasn’t one of my substitutes, he was another member of staff,” Klopp said after the game.
“And I already told him what I thought about it and I’m fine with that. But at the moment, it’s not something I want to talk about.”
Two goals from Sadio Mane after the restart did damage for the 10-man Blues after Klopp brought in new signing Thiago Alcantara for his Premier League debut.
The Spanish international impressed against the hosts in midfield, but Klopp also reserved praise for Fabinho, who excelled in defense as a makeshift center-back alongside Virgil van Dijk.
Thiago is a red!
A deal worth more than 20 million pounds has brought the midfielder to Anfield, and he is ready to play for Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp added: “We signed Thiago for different reasons and only one of them is against deep defensive teams.
“We have improved a lot in that department I have to say with all the players who were already here, but yes, it is something that suits him well, it is natural for him, so I like that.
“That is one of the reasons for many [why we signed him]. And Fabinho, yes! If Sadio hadn’t scored two goals, I think Fab would be a suitable contender for Man of the Match.
“I loved his performance, he was outstanding. With the ball and defense as well, it was an adequate performance.”
