KUALA LUMPUR: The investigation of the Ministry of Human Resources carried out at the premises of the courier company J&T Express in Perak following a violent incident of parcel distribution, found that it was caused by an additional workload and the problem of paying the employees of the company.
The ministry, in a statement today, said the investigation found that there were employees, especially in the delivery department, who were dissatisfied with the provision of performance-based bonuses and unilateral changes made to the commission payment structure.
“The investigation also found that the incident occurred at the commercial premises of a company located in Perak, it was due to the additional workload experienced by workers in the warehouse division due to the sudden increase in packages.
“Some employees, especially in the delivery department (dispatch), were also found to be dissatisfied with the provision of performance-based bonuses and one-sided changes in commission payments that would decrease the income of the employees involved,” the ministry said. .
Recently, a 15-second viral video showing various company employees throwing customer packages with some of them yelling that they believed they were dissatisfied with management, which was said to be related to salary payment problems.
The ministry also said that the employer had said that the problem related to the incident had been resolved and was due to a misunderstanding, in addition to issuing a statement of apology to clients and explaining the bonus system to staff.
“Employers are urged to always consult with employees before making any changes that involve their interests. This is to ensure that the harmony and well-being of employees continue to be protected, ”the ministry said. -Called
