KBS has officially announced that Ji Soo will be leaving the cast of the drama “River Where the Moon Rises.”

Earlier this week, the actor became embroiled in multiple allegations of school violence, and responded on March 4 with a handwritten letter of apology for his past behavior. The producers of “River Where the Moon Rises” immediately canceled filming that day, but stated that since they had already completed 95 percent of filming for the drama, they would hold a meeting to discuss how to proceed after the controversy.

On the morning of March 5, a KBS spokesperson told Star News that they had finally made the decision that Ji Soo would leave the drama.

“Ji Soo, who has recently become the center of controversy, will stop working on ‘River Where the Moon Rises,'” they stated. “We are currently in talks with the producer about our next steps.”

That same morning, Na In Woo’s agency Cube Entertainment confirmed that “Mr. The “Queen star” was in talks to take on the role of Ji Soo. A representative from the agency stated, “Na In Woo has received an offer to join ‘River Where the Moon Rises’ in the role of On Dal, and is currently reviewing the offer.”

At the moment, discussions are still ongoing on whether the next episodes of “River Where the Moon Rises” that were scheduled for March 8 and 9 will air.
