January Variety Show Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

The Korean Institute for Business Research has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for variety shows!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of consumer engagement, engagement, media coverage, community awareness, and viewership ratings of 50 popular variety shows, using big data collected from December 3. to January 3.

TV Chosun’s trot audition show “Miss Trot 2” topped this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 18,799,904. Top-ranking phrases in the show’s keyword analysis included “Jin Sun Mi,” “spin,” and “ratings,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “exceed,” “record,” and “challenge.” The program’s positivity-negativity analysis revealed a score of 89.66 percent positive reactions.

MBC’s “Home Alone” (“I Live Alone”) ranked second with a brand reputation index of 10,086,685, representing a 10.33 percent increase in its score since December.

Finally, JTBC’s “Sing Again” came in third after seeing a 23.38 percent increase in its brand reputation index from last month. The total program index for January was 9,591,860.
