KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah’s Conditional Movement Control (MCO) Order Will Run Until Nov 9, Says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (Photo).

The Chief Minister (Security) said that the conditional MCO for Sabah was initially scheduled for October 13-26, but the Health Ministry still saw a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases in the state after targeted testing.

“The government has decided to extend the conditional MCO in Sabah until November 9,” he said during his daily briefing on Saturday (October 24).

In another matter, two areas in Sabah, Taman Semarak and PPR Balung in Tawau, will be placed under enhanced MCO from October 26 to November 8.

“Both areas involve 4,266 houses and 21,470 inhabitants,” he said.

Ismail Sabri said that according to standard operating procedure, residents are not allowed to leave the area except in emergency cases, such as medical reasons or deaths, and police approval is required before they are allowed to leave.

“All schools, mosques and other places of worship are closed during the enhanced MCO period.

“The various stores can operate from 6 am to 6 pm, while recreational and sports activities are not allowed.

“The Health Ministry will carry out targeted tests on residents, while the state disaster operations center will coordinate the food supply,” Ismail Sabri said.

He also advised those involved to consult the National Security Council website for more information.
