KUALA LUMPUR: Police have issued 347 compounds to people for MCO violations, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (Photo).
The Chief Minister said that 10 people out of 347 were also detained for various rapes on Thursday (December 31).
“Among the violations committed are the lack of observance of physical distancing (54), the lack of preparation of entry registers and equipment (49), the lack of use of masks (109) and activities in nightclubs ( 135), “he said in a statement Friday. (January 1).
It also said that the police-led enforcement operations working group had conducted 43,798 checks to monitor and enforce standard operating procedure (SOP).
He said a total of 3,025 supermarkets, 4,234 restaurants, 1,472 street vendors, 919 factories, 3,016 banks and 654 government offices were searched.
“The working group also verified 889 land transport terminals, 164 water transport terminals and 86 air terminals.
“These controls were carried out by 2,397 teams that involved 10,633 people,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said that under Ops Benteng, police installed 110 roadblocks, arrested 31 undocumented immigrants and impounded five vehicles.
On the mandatory quarantine, Ismail Sabri said that 95,466 people had returned to Malaysia between July 24 and December 31.
“All of them have been sent to 77 hotels and 16 civil training institutes for quarantine.
“A total of 7,440 people are currently in quarantine, while 540 people have been admitted to the hospital,” he said.
At construction sites, he said the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) conducted 14,124 checks at 8,029 construction sites.
“Yesterday 10 sites were inspected and they all met the SOP,” he said.
