KUALA LUMPUR: Compounds issued to 142 people for violating recovery MCO, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (Photo).

The Prime Minister (Security) said that among the crimes committed on Monday (December 28) were not wearing masks and not maintaining physical distancing.

“The enforcement operation task force carried out 40,152 inspections nationwide on Monday.

“Among the locations reviewed are 3,401 supermarkets, 4,567 restaurants and 3,205 banks,” it said in a statement on Tuesday (December 29).

In Ops Benteng, 16 undocumented immigrants were detained while three ground vehicles were seized after 110 roadblocks carried out across the country on Monday, he added.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said 93,728 people returned to Malaysia since July 24.

“7,518 people remain under mandatory quarantine in various locations, including 75 hotels.

“540 people were sent to hospitals for treatment, while 85,670 were discharged and allowed to return to their homes,” he said.

He also announced that the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumption carried out 535 controls on 12 types of businesses on Monday and that the supply of basic necessities was sufficient.

“The ministry also carried out 873 checks on compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP).

“All the locals adhered to the SOP,” he said.

At construction sites, Ismail Sabri said 14,090 checks were conducted at 8,027 sites between April 20 and December 28.

On the public sanitation program, Ismail Sabri said 13,131 operations have been carried out in 137 areas since March 30.
