Public witness Chong Yue Fatt, 57, who was the first person to find the body on the 10th day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation, said that when he saw the body, he screamed to alert members of his team that had found a body.
“As soon as we found the body, we all tried to contact the authorities but we couldn’t because there was no coverage, so I told a man on our team to leave the area and tell his father to call the fire department at the scene. ..
“While we waited for the authorities to arrive, we reminded each other that we should not approach the body so as not to compromise or destroy the evidence. We waited a long time, between one and two hours,” said witness number 28 in Chinese.

Responding to a question from Deputy Prosecutor Nuralis Mat, acting as the coordinator of the investigation, about what else was around the hut, Chong said: “I saw containers of food, like Maggie and bottles of drinks.”
When asked by the coroner who decided the search area, Chong said it was done after a proposal from a friend named Chan, who told him that he (Chan) had called a monk from Thailand in an effort to track down the teenager with special needs. .
“The monk told Chan to look for the girl in areas near a river,” he said.
Meanwhile, witness number 29, Muhammad Firdaus Kamarudin, 35, said he saw a woman with long brown hair, a medium complexion and fair skin in the river in the area on August 4.
“I was driving to work at the Gunung Berembun water plant on a motorcycle around 7pm and that’s when I saw, at a glance, a woman without clothes bathing with her back to me,” he said.
Air Selangor Negeri Sembilan Sdn Bhd operator said that even though it was getting dark, he could still see the woman clearly, adding that it was normal for those staying at the resort to be on the river in the area.
Muhammad Firdaus said he told the Civil Defense Force (APM) two days later when he heard the news of the girl’s disappearance.
