PETALING JAYA: With a record spending of RM 322.5 billion, Budget 2021 is a landmark spending plan that aims to jumpstart the economy and help Malaysians weather the Covid-19 pandemic.
The budget has more than 20 specific measures that will directly benefit Malaysians at many levels of society, all of whom have been hit hard by reduced or lost income due to the pandemic.

In terms of revenue, a large part of the allocation in the 2021 budget is expected to come from direct taxes, which account for almost 56% of government revenue.
Other government revenues will come from indirect taxes (26%) such as OSH and special taxes and non-tax revenues (18%) such as investment income and licenses and permits.
