Sergio Agüero is at the center of a controversial incident involving assistant referee Sian Massey-Ellis.
The Argentine forward put his hand on Massey-Ellis’s neck after a decision went against him during the first half of Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday.
While some soccer fans believe there was nothing in him, others have voiced criticism of the City star’s actions on social media.
The incident was reviewed on Match of the Day, and host Gary Lineker asked Alan Shearer and Ian Wright what they thought about the “awkward moment.”
The two strikers turned Premier League experts criticized the South American.
“Yes, I shouldn’t put my hand on the assistant referee,” Shearer said. “It just wasn’t looking good Gary, was it?
“You shouldn’t.”
Wright added, “What was that ?! Unnecessary, unnecessarily condescending. I felt really uncomfortable, that did me. “
“I wouldn’t disagree,” Lineker replied.

Pep Guardiola was also asked to express his opinion at his post-match press conference.

This was Agüero’s first league appearance of the season after missing City’s first three games through injury.
He played for 65 minutes in City’s 1-0 win. Raheem Sterling scored the only goal of the match in the 23rd minute.
